Good taste and generous portions for the price paid. The food was fresh and satisfying, and the complimentary ice creams added a nice special touch to the experience. Great value for money, and I would happily visit again

Had dinner at Lana in Portlaoise with Leonard and Donal and really enjoyed it. The food was fresh, full of flavour, and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

I recently ordered takeaway from this restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was not pleasant. While trying to ask about items on the menu, the woman
cashier was quite rude and spoke in an aggressive manner. I was simply looking for some clarification, but I didn’t receive any help.
Customer service is just as important as the food, and this interaction made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope the management can address this, as a more polite and helpful approach would make a big difference.
Hi Aytac, Manager here, to clarify what occured was you came into the restaurant on the phone and completely ignored staff who tried to assist you. You then proceeded to talk on the phone whilst walking down half way into the restaurant ,still ignoring staff . When you did come up to the counter to talk to a member of staff you were extremely rude to one of my waiters which is when i stepped in. It would be greatly appreciated if you could refrain from talking on the phone next time you come in for a take away. Thanks.
When we entered the restaurant the server (young guy) informed us they are not serving groups of 3 people, only 2 or 4. I find this hard to believe as we can be sat at a table of 4, and he started arguing that only 4 people can be sat. We were open to be sat at any of the tables and we even told we don’t have any preference. The server acted at first that he really can’t help us, and maybe we should just leave. We went around 8pm, and the whole place was almost empty. In the end with a big sigh he told us to sit down at a table of 4. The food was nice but the attitude definitely ruined it for me. When we asked if any meat is halal he made a big sigh and even rolled his eyes.

To clarify, when you came into our restaurant our team advised that the table in question that you wanted to sit at is generally considered suitable for two guests, as it can be quite tight for four people. In addition, as your visit was close to our closing time, we were operating with limited seating availability and capacity.
Our intention was never to cause inconvenience, but rather to ensure that all guests are seated comfortably and that we can provide the best possible service within our operating hours.
We appreciate your feedback and will take your comments on board as we continually look for ways to improve our guests' experience. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.
I really didn't want to have to leave this review. I visited Lana a couple a weeks ago and there was an incident with a weird customer but the staff were nice on that occasion and we said we would try it again as the food was relatively ok.
We were late enough to visit, but the opening times on Google said 9.45 close, and we arrived at 8.45, there's a sign on the door saying 9.15pm is the closing time for tables, but inside we were rudely and irritably told they were not doing tables anymore, only take away. Anyway to that rude person - update your website and sign or if you want to close earlier than usual, consider being a bit more apologetic - we didn't just appear out of thin air, we made an effort to get there because of the times you advertised.
